LAW ENFORCEMENT TACTICAL HANDGUN DEPLOYMENT

This MCOLES approved training program is available to sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel.  This 1-3 day course is fully customizable to meet client needs and is designed for the uniformed officer.  Instructional goals are based on the safe manipulation of a semi-automatic handgun and improving shooting accuracy and speed in high stress environments.

Teaching points include situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, effective decision making, weapon manipulation, recoil management, use of cover, one handed shooting techniques, injured shooter techniques, movement, and developing safe/effective combat handgun deployment techniques.

All students must be confident in the safe handling of firearms and basic handgun techniques as this is a high pace program.  Participants will conduct live fire drills in varying lighting conditions, as well as reality-based scenario training that is physically and mentally challenging.

Required Equipment: 

  • Semi-automatic duty weapon, 10 round minimum capacity, minimum of four magazines 

  • Weapon mounted light if available 

  • 600 Rounds (minimum) of quality ammunition per day/student

  • Duty / Tactical belt with holster and a minimum of two magazine pouches

  • Clear ballistic wrap around eye protection 

  • Hearing protection – electronic preferred 

  • Tourniquet / I-FAK

  • Bullet resistant vest / plate carrier / tactical entry vest

  • Ball cap 

  • Pocket sized flashlight/fresh batteries 

  • Fatigue pants or slacks

  • Athletic footwear / boots

  • Weapon lubrication / cleaning supplies

  • Sunscreen / bug repellent / clothing suited for the environment 

  • Notetaking materials

  • Water / Snacks / Lunch 

LAW ENFORCEMENT
CONCEALED HANDGUN DEPLOYMENT

This MCOLES approved training program is available to sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel who regularly carry a handgun off duty and/or work in plain clothes or in an undercover capacity.  This is a 1-2 day course and is customizable to meet client needs.  Instruction set will strengthen the ability to carry, accurately deploy and safely re-holster a semi-automatic handgun from/to concealment.  Emphasis is based on safety, equipment selection, concealment techniques and weapon presentation from different types of clothing and holsters. Teaching points include situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, effective decision making, weapon manipulation, improving shooting accuracy and speed, injured shooter considerations, efficient movement and developing safe/effective combat handgun deployment techniques while wearing plain clothes.  Plain clothes response to active killer situations and identifying yourself as a police officer will be covered as well.

 

All students must be confident in the safe handling of firearms and basic handgun techniques as this is a high pace program.  Participants will conduct live fire drills in varying lighting conditions from concealment, as well as reality-based scenario training that is physically and mentally challenging.  

 

Inside the waistband holsters must have a non-collapsible opening.  Blackhawk SERPA holsters and similar trigger finger actuated holsters are strongly discouraged.  

 

Required Equipment: 

  • Semi-automatic duty weapon, 10 round minimum capacity, minimum of 4 magazines

  • 600 Rounds (minimum) of quality ammunition per day/student

  • Inside/outside waistband holster with hold open feature (suitable for concealment)

  • Concealable magazine carrier with hold open feature (Kydex type preferred)

  • Sturdy pants belt

  • Clear ballistic wrap around eye protection 

  • Hearing protection – electronic preferred 

  • Tourniquet / I-FAK

  • Concealable bullet resistant vest if desired / required

  • Ball cap 

  • Pocket sized flashlight / fresh and extra batteries

  • Jeans or slacks 

  • T-shirt or Polo style shirt

  • Button up shirt (un-tucked) 

  • Shell type zippered jacket

  • Hooded sweatshirt 

  • Other garment you wear in your profession that is not listed

  • Athletic footwear

  • Weapon lubrication / cleaning supplies

  • Sunscreen / bug repellent / clothing suited for the environment

  • Notetaking materials

  • Water / Snacks / Lunch
